Josh Jacobs Injury Update: What Fantasy Owners Need to Know About Packers RB Status Ahead of Week 13

The Green Bay Packers are on the hunt for a playoff spot, and they are in a must-win situation against the Detroit Lions. However, they might be playing it without their top running back, Josh Jacobs, who has already missed a few games due to injury.

He missed the game against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 12 despite practicing earlier that week, and in Week 13, they will be facing off against the Lions on a shorter timeframe, as it will happen on Thursday as a Thanksgiving game. The question now is, will Jacobs be healthy enough to play on Thursday?

    What Happened to Josh Jacobs?

Josh Jacobs got injured back in Week 11, when the Green Bay Packers were taking on the New York Giants. He reportedly injured his knee and has been trying to get healthy enough to play against the Lions on Thursday.

“Worst case if I don’t play this week, Thursday I’m definitely playing,” he said. “It’s not like something that’ll linger over past that. That’s really the worst-case scenario, yeah.”

Jacobs reportedly practiced at a limited capacity on Monday, but this in of itself is no guarantee that he would be healthy enough to return to play against the Lions.

Is Josh Jacobs Playing Week 13?

The big question now is, will he be able to play? For now, the team itself is waiting to see if he would be healthy enough to take to the field, especially if he could reaggravate his injury and miss even more games. While Jacobs himself is saying that he wants to be back in time for that Thanksgiving showdown against the Lions, his own body, as well as the doctors overseeing him, might say otherwise.

    Josh Jacobs Fantasy Outlook

For now, Fantasy managers should try to adopt a wait-and-see approach, as Jacobs still might have to clear a few medical hurdles before he can actually play. For now, managers should still sit him out as they await the team’s final decision on whether he will be able to play or not.

Despite this carefulness, the chances that Jacobs would be able to play are very good, though not 100%, so managers who have him better not get him to start just yet.
