Josh Allen Injury Update: What Fantasy Owners Need To Know About Bills QB Ahead of Week 17

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills are slated to take on the defending champions Philadelphia Eagles in a possible snow match on Sunday at home. However, there are some questions regarding Allen, who seems to have gotten injured during that 23-20 win over Shedeur Sanders and the Cleveland Browns. The Browns may have one of the worst records in the league, but they have one of the best defenses, and they clamped down on Allen hard.

The Bills QB1 is reportedly dealing with a foot injury after he was sacked against the Browns. Head coach Sean McDermott stated that he has been suffering from day-to-day soreness but the team is not considering his injury to be that serious.

Allen did miss the practice session on Tuesday due to that foot injury, but he returned to have limited practice on Wednesday. On Thursday, the team did not practice at all, as it was Christmas, but the team still listed Josh Allen as a limited participant during that Christmas injury report.

Is Josh Allen Playing This Week?

The answer to that question is yes, as Allen himself says that he “will be playing, planning on playing” on Sunday against the Eagles. He has been cleared to play as well, but he will be playing hurt.

Allen also spoke about his injury and said that he is feeling good.

“Feels good. Feels good,” he told reporters. “Ready to go.”

Despite this, Allen also admitted that he is still sore, but he will be playing no matter what.

“I mean, still sore,” Allen said. “Walk-through today, so really not practice in general. So yeah … feeling good.”

He got injured during the first half against the Browns on Sunday, and the Bills were worried. He immediately got an X-ray during halftime but was soon cleared to return to the game and did not even miss a snap. He has already started 120 consecutive regular-season games and has not missed action that much since he was still a rookie.

While he might be playing hurt, he does have at least one backup QB over at Buffalo, with backup Mitch Trubisky ready to replace him should he go down.
