Jordan Love Dealt Last Minute Blow Ahead Of Highly Anticipated Matchup vs Lions

Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers are on the hunt for a spot in the playoffs, but they have to win against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day. However, the injury bug has bitten the team hard over the last few weeks, and the team’s final injury report ahead of the game has revealed that a few key players will be missing action in Detroit on Thursday.

ESPN’s Andrew Schefter has revealed that a few players who were previously listed as questionable ahead of the game will not be available and miss the showdown against the Lions. The biggest name from among them will be wide receiver Matthew Golden, which means that Love will have fewer options on Thursday. Packers linebacker Quay Walker will also be inactive against the Lions.

It is not all bad news, though, as cornerback Keisean Nixon will be suiting up for the Packers at Detroit. Running back Josh Jacobs is also expected to make his return against the Lions on Thursday.

Matthew Goilden has been dealing with a wrist injury and also missed last week’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. However, the Packers still have Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks to be their three wide receivers. There is a chance that Golden may return around Week 14 against the Chicago Bears.

As for Quay Walker, he has been dealing with a neck injury he suffered back in Week 11 against the New York Giants, with the team currently hoping he gets healthy enough to be back when they take on the Chicago Bears during Week 14.

Jordan Love Admits He Was Playing Hurt vs. Minnesota Vikings in Week 12

The injury problems over at Green Bay are also affecting quarterback Jordan Love himself. The Packers took on the Minnesota Vikings last week, and he had just returned from injury at that time. However, he admitted that he was playing through pain during that game, as he was still dealing with a left shoulder injury.

“It’s just one of those things where I’m able to play through it,” he said. “Obviously, if you fall on it or take a hit you are going to feel it. But nothing that is holding me back, or something that I can’t play through.”

As Love played while still hurt, it was Emanuel Wilson who stepped up for the Packers and delivered the victory. Whether love is still hurt against the Lions is still unknown.
