Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has finally returned to Green Bay since moving to Pittsburgh, but it did not go as he wanted as the Packers demolished the Steelers 35-25. However, it was not Rodgers who fans were blaming for that loss, but tight end Jonnu Smith, who had flubbed several plays during last Sunday’s big game.

Smith dropped the ball several times as Aaron Rodgers tried to pass to him, including what should have been a crucial touchdown. This led fans to poke fun at the tight end for his mistakes on the field:
“Jonnu Smith is such a bum😂,” said one fan.
“Jonnu Smith when he has a chance to keep the game within reach:,” joked another, complete with a joke about his “butter fingers” for dropping the ball.

“Jonnu Smith can F**K OFF ABSOLUTE PIECE OF S*** AS A FOOTBALL PLAYER,” one frustrated fan tweeted.
“Should’ve know this team wasn’t serious when they got Jonnu Smith instead of a damn wide receiver,” added another frustrated fan.
“Green Bay defense so tight end friendly no way jonnu smith should have 0 yards at halftime,” noted one fan.
“Again, Jonnu Smith was given an extension and he is making zero plays. Roster construction has been very flawed under Kahn and Tomlin.,” another person tweeted.
The Steelers were only down 10 points during the play, and they had a chance to get a two-point conversion and get closer. Aaron Rodgers tried a do a 21-yard pass for Jonnu, but he could not hold on, leading to the Packers holding on and winning.
Jonnu Smith Was Brought In to Compliment Aaron Rodgers
As for Jonnu Smith himself, he had been solid before that fumble, and he had been working very well with Aaron Rodgers ahead of the Green Bay game. The Steelers acquired him in a trade with the Miami Dolphins, and he was actually brought in to compliment Rodgers.
Smith has a knack for catching the ball midair and was 4.9 air yards per target, and the team believes he was a good option for Rodgers because he fits his style, and they were right. This fumble he had against the Packers was a costly one, and a big blemish in an otherwise good season.
