Simone Biles has been a steady presence in Jonathan Owens’ NFL journey in recent years. The legendary gymnast often shows up for games to show support for her husband. And Biles does it all in style.
Every game has been an opportunity for Biles to show her fashion sense, be it through customized merchandise or luxury clothing; Biles knows how to raise the bar. She did it again for the Bears vs Browns matchup.
She posted several pictures on her Instagram story. In the pictures, Biles can be seen sitting inside a car, probably on her way down to the stadium. She dressed up in all white and added the touch of luxury with her stylish blue fur jacket.
She also posted a picture from the stands of a nearly empty field, which says that she reached the venue well before time. Biles also posted a video toward the end in which she could be seen kissing her husband on the sidelines before kickoff.
While Biles’ fashion game is, as always, unmistakable, the matchup itself carries a lot of weight in the NFC. The Bears are currently 9-4 and sitting behind the Packers, 9-3, in the NFC North. A victory here would make them the NFC North leaders.
With that, they will also become only the third team in the NFC with wins in double digits. The Rams and Seahawks have accumulated 10 wins with only three losses so far this season.
Headed toward halftime, the game has been controlled by the Bears. With a minute left in the second quarter, they are leading 14-0, showing complete dominance in a game that is being affected by harsh weather conditions.
Jonathan Owens on Meeting Simone Biles for the First Time
There are a handful of athletes in this world as accomplished as Biles. One of the most decorated Olympians of all time, Biles holds the record for most combined Olympic and World Championship medals. She has won 41 medals.
Despite her global popularity and complete dominance in her discipline, Owens wasn’t familiar with her name or work when he first saw her. During an appearance on The Pivot Podcast, the Bears star opened up about meeting Biles for the first time.
“When she won the Olympics, I was in college, and we didn’t have NBC. We didn’t have Olympics channels and we’re in camp. We’re in camp in late July, early August,” he said. “So, I’m not paying attention…I’m like, ‘Lemme see who this is.’ I never really paid attention to gymnastics, so it piqued my curiosity.”
While it didn’t take long for Owens to understand who she really was, his comment was deemed derogatory and insulting by many. Fans believed that he was trying to downplay her impact with his ignorance. Thankfully, Biles and Owens didn’t let the outside noise affect their relationship at all.
