Houston Texans running back Joe Mixon looked to picked up where he left off last season with the Houston Texans.
After being traded from the Cincinnati Bengals to Houston last offseason, Mixon earned his second Pro Bowl nod, as he rushed for 1,034 yards, nine touchdowns, and hauled in 36 catches for 309 yards and a touchdown.
But a setback in the offseason has caused the star running back to be sidelined all season thus far.
What Happened to Joe Mixon?
Joe Mixon has been sidelined all season due to a non-football injury suffered in the offseason. Mixon has been out with a lingering foot injury, and hasn’t seemed to have made great progress this season.
When is Joe Mixon Coming Back?
The Houston Texans have never ruled out a Joe Mixon return, but it doesn’t sound likely that he will return any time soon, if at all. General manager Nick Caserio spoke to the media today stating that Mixon’s situation is a ‘gray situation.’
Nick Caserio on Joe Mixon on @SethCPayne & @SeanTPendergast on @SportsRadio610:
“It’s a very gray situation. Joe’s worked at it. There were times where he’s made progress and other times when the progress is kinda stalled. Obviously we’re getting pretty late in the game here, I… https://t.co/U67BnbM4aR pic.twitter.com/KhquNgii3m

There’s a chance that Mixon doesn’t return at all this season.
Joe Mixon Fantasy Outlook
There isn’t much of a fantasy outlook for Joe Mixon, as he has been out for the entire season. There’s also no indication on whether or not he will play this season. Last season, he rushed for 1,016 yards and 11 touchdowns in his first season as a Texan.
Fantasy Replacements For Joe Mixon This Week
If you have Joe Mixon on your roster still, he’s likely on injured reserve. With that being said, most fantasy owners should have the space to add a running back off of the waiver wire if needed.
Still, some solid options to pick up this week include Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Sean Tucker, Pittsburgh Steelers running back Kenneth Gainwell, and Green Bay Packers running back Emmanuel Wilson.
