Joe Burrow’s discontent with the Cincinnati Bengals appeared to hit new heights last offseason, and after an even worse record in 2025, there’s little reason to believe tensions have softened. NFL fans have braced for the quarterback to run out of patience with the organization’s struggles to put a solid offensive line and a better defense around him.
If Burrow pushes the red button and demands a trade away from Cincinnati, some landing spots might work better than others. Here’s a look at options that could work for Burrow, Cincinnati and the team he joins.
Top Potential Joe Burrow Trade Partners That Make Sense
#3 – Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons already have an expensive quarterback in their books in the form of Kirk Cousins’ $180 million deal (Spotrac). However, with Cousins entering a release window this offseason in which the team can cut ties and save money, trading away or cutting him and adding Joe Burrow would be a great move.
Burrow would enjoy Bijan Robinson and Drake London in an offense that almost ran itself for Cousins at times.
#2 – Minnesota Vikings
The only reason Minnesota isn’t the best fit is that it might be too good. Cincinnati could create a dynasty that could make its own road to a Super Bowl victory through Joe Burrow’s new team.
Burrow would be going from one Sean McVay disciple head coach to another, joining forces with one of the deepest wide receiver rooms in the NFL with Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, Jalen Nailor, and others. Not only would most of Burrow’s offensive knowledge transfer, but he would also be greeted with one of the best defenses in football.
If the NFC wants its own dynasty franchise, like the Kansas City Chiefs or New England Patriots, this is the best way to make it happen.
#1 – New York Giants
The New York Giants have embarked on the Jaxson Dart era, but the possibility of adding Joe Burrow should blow that up in an instant. Cam Skattebo and Malik Nabers could be an awesome one-two punch for Burrow, and that’s without mentioning Wan’Dale Robinson.
If New York can land a star head coach in a cycle suddenly peppered with them, Burrow and New York could be a top-two team to watch in the NFC East overnight. Of course, as the team is located in the NFC, the odds of Cincinnati and New York sparring in the Super Bowl are quite low, adding another reason why the fit could work.
