J.J. McCarthy and the Minnesota Vikings struggled mightily this Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, losing the encounter 23-6. With this, they moved to a 4-7 record, effectively burying any hopes of making it to the playoffs.

For most fans, the reason for their heavy defeat was clear: Quarterback J.J. McCarthy’s poor display. And they wasted no time in going to social media to express their opinions.
“@Vikingsit’s time to give up on JJ McCarthy (who is throwing at least one interception in every pro game he’s ever played ) and start playing Max Brosmer,” asked one fan.
“JJ McCarthy is miserable to watch,” said someone else.
“Will never understand how JJ McCarthy was looked at as a 1st rd pick,” lamented another fan.
Fans didn’t mince their words in their criticism of J.J. McCarthy.
“JJ McCarthy the worst QB in the NFL,” claimed someone else.
“JJ “Nine” Mccarthy may be the worst qb i’ve ever seen,” said yet another fan.
“JJ McCarthy isn’t even a backup QB at this point. He’s un playable and the whole organization should be embarrassed and people need to be held accountable for this awful decision,” said a clearly annoyed fan.
J.J. McCarthy’s Numbers Against the Green Bay Packers in Week 12 of the NFL
McCarthy had an awful production in Sunday’s 6-23 defeat to the Packers. The signal-caller didn’t even record 100 passing yards, being limited to 89 passing yards, with no touchdown passes and a worrisome two interceptions. The only part of his game that wasn’t awful was his 63.1% completion percentage.
However, that’s because he only threw the ball 19 times, with 12 completed passes, showing how little the coaching staff trusts him with throwing the ball.
McCarthy has only 842 passing yards, with six touchdowns and eight interceptions this season. His QBR of 26.5 ranks among the worst in the league.
