Jayden Reed Injury Update: All Fantasy Owners Need To Know on Packers WR Ahead Of Week 12 Matchup vs Vikings

The Green Bay Packers have been struggling on offense as of late, and to make matters worse, the injury bug has bitten hard, with several key players like Jayden Reed, Matthew Golden and Tucker Kraft being injured. Their wide receiver room has been very banged up as the Packers intensify their bid for the playoffs.

Reed in particular would be a blow should he miss the Week 12 showdown against the Vikings, as he had been stepping up for the other injured wide receivers at 45 receiving yards for three receptions and one receiving touchdown. Will he be able to play in Week 12, though?

    What Happened to Jayden Reed?

Reed suffered a broken clavicle during the Packers’ 27-18 win over the Washington Commanders at Lambeau Field back in September. This required him to get surgery, and he was placed on the injured reserve (IR) soon after. The mandatory IR requirement of four missed games has now passed since being placed on the list, which means that Reed is already eligible to return.

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur had been honest in regards to the wide receiver’s injury, telling reporters that they expect him to miss “a lot of time” after undergoing surgery. For now, the team is waiting to see if he can finally be able to return, especially as the team has been experiencing a lot of offensive woes.

When Will Jayden Reed Be Back?

Even with him eligible to return from the injured reserve, Jayden Reed has not yet opened his 21-day practice window. However, the Milwaukee Journal’s Tom Silverstein has provided a target window for the wide receiver’s return.

“The target for Reed’s return is either the Thanksgiving Day game at Detroit or the week after vs. Chicago. Reed’s foot injury is completely healed, and he has been able to take his training to a level where he should be ready to play once his broken collarbone is healed,” Silverstein wrote.

    Jayden Reed Fantasy Outlook

For now, it should be best for Fantasy managers to sit Reed out, as he may not be back until Week 13 against the Lions. However, it should get interesting if the team decides to let him practice on Wednesday, but he is still expected to miss Week 12 against Minnesota.

Best Jayden Reed Waiver Wire Replacements For Week 12

For now, Fantasy managers should be able to pick up some wide receivers via the Waiver Wire while awaiting Reed’s return. Tennessee’s Elic Ayomanor has been moving up the ranks with the Titans as of late, while the Cleveland Browns’ Cedric Tillman has been doing decently over the last two games.
