Jayden Reed Injury Update: What Fantasy Owners Need to Know About Packers WR Status Ahead of Week 11

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed broke his collarbone in Week 2 of the season against Washington. He has been out ever since, but is approaching the time of the year when he could be expected to return. The standard recovery timeline for collarbone injuries is six to eight weeks, which would mean Reed could have resumed practicing if he were recovering at the normal rate. Here is everything you need to know about his status ahead of Week 11.

    What Happened to Jayden Reed?

Jayden Reed broke his collarbone in Week 2. He landed awkwardly on his shoulder after scoring a TD that was negated by a penalty. He left the field after the play and has not played a snap for the Packers since.

When Will Jayden Reed Be Back?

While the initial injury timeline was expected to be six to eight weeks, Reed has passed that already. According to a report from Tom Silverstain of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Reed is targeting a return in Week 13 against Detroit or Week 14 against the Chicago Bears.

    Jayden Reed Fantasy Outlook

Before his injury, Reed had three receptions for 45 yards and one TD. That does not include the TD he scored that was negated on the play he suffered his injury because of a penalty. He appeared to be set to have another strong season. However, it is unclear how he will look when he returns.

Overall, the fantasy outlook is not good for Reed. He is still expected to miss a few more weeks. Then, when he returns, he might not be up to game speed. If he were returning earlier in the season, it would be worth it for fantasy owners to hold onto him. However, he is set to return at a part of the season that fantasy owners need to be at their best. So, Reed will be a risky player to hold for the rest of the year.

Fantasy Replacements For Jayden Reed This Week

If you are looking for wide receiver replacements on the waiver wire, there should be plenty of options available. Jacksonville’s Parker Washington should be available in most leagues and has a lot of potential to put up points. We are also fans of Tampa Bay’s Tez Johnson if he is still available in your league.
