When Will Jayden Daniels Return? Latest Injury Update And Fantasy Outlook On Commanders QB

The Washington Commanders haven’t had the season that some thought they’d be having.

Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels helped lead the team to the NFC Championship as a rookie as the team exceeded many people’s expectations. He won the 2024-2025 Offensive Rookie of the Year as he threw for 3,568 yards, 25 touchdowns, and rushed for 891 yards and six touchdowns.

Entering Week 14, the Commanders carry in a 3-9 record against the Minnesota Vikings.

Daniels has been inactive the last three games due to an injury.

    What Happened to Jayden Daniels?

During the Washington Commanders’ Week 9 game against the Seattle Seahawks, Jayden Daniels suffered an elbow injury as he was being tackled to the ground. When his arm landed on the ground, it bent back awkwardly and snapped out of place.

As a result, Daniels dislocated his non-throwing elbow and left the game. He was not placed on injured reserve but missed the Commanders’ next three games. He avoided a potential longer injury by not suffering any tendon damage.

Will Jayden Daniels Play in Week 14?

Yes, Jayden Daniels will make his return this week. Head coach Dan Quinn confirmed that Daniels will start Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.

Daniels participated in last week’s practices but was limited all week. This week, he returned to practice with no limitations on Thursday and Friday.

At 3-9, the Commanders don’t have much to play for, as they currently have just a 1% chance to make the playoffs. A loss this weekend pretty much eliminates them.

Still, Daniels returns with five games left to play with four of those games being divisional games. In six games played, Daniels has thrown for 1,184 yards, eight touchdowns, and a pair of interceptions. Additionally, he has 262 rushing yards and a pair a of rushing touchdowns on the ground.
