Jayden Daniels Injury Update: What Fantasy Owners Need to Know About Commanders QB Status Ahead of Week 10

Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels has not had the second NFL season the Commanders were hoping for. After a stellar rookie year where he led the Commanders to a berth in the NFC Championship Game, Daniels’ second season has been marred by inconsistent play and injuries. He had already missed time this season with a hamstring injury, but suffered a gruesome dislocated elbow on Sunday against the Seahawks.

    What Happened to Jayden Daniels?

Jayden Daniels returned to the lineup last week after missing the team’s previous game with a hamstring injury. The game did not go well for the Commanders as they lost 38-14. However, it was made worse as in garbage time in the fourth quarter, Daniels suffered a gruesome dislocated elbow injury while getting sacked.

    When Will Jayden Daniels Return?

The Washington Commanders have not provided an official return timeline for Jayden Daniels. However, head coach Dan Quinn confirmed that he will be “out for a while, for sure.” According to ESPN, this injury often requires six to eight weeks of recovery. That timeline would have him return towards the end of the season. However, if the Commanders are not in playoff contention, they will likely be cautious with him and keep him out for the rest of the year.

    Jayden Daniels Fantasy Outlook

The fantasy outlook for Jayden Daniels is not good for this season. There is a strong chance that he will be out for the rest of the season. If he returns, it will likely be in the final week or two of the season, meaning he will not have much value to fantasy owners. As a result, he should be dropped in most leagues. The only scenario where he has value is if you play in a dynasty league where you can keep some players between seasons.

    Fantasy Replacements For Jayden Daniels

If you are looking for a QB replacement on the waiver wire, it could be difficult. There are not as many good QB options as there are at other positions. However, there could be some undervalued players you can pick up. For example, Seattle’s Sam Darnold is undervalued by many and could be available in some leagues. Cincinnati’s Joe Flacco also has a lot of potential to put up points in the Bengals’ dynamic offense.
