Since quarterback Jayden Daniels went down with an injury during Week 9 against the Seattle Seahawks, the Washington Commanders have been struggling. Their playoff chances are slipping amid a six-game losing streak, even losing to the struggling Miami Dolphins, which have now overtaken the Commanders in the win-loss record.
This has many wondering when Jayden Daniels will be able to return, and if his return could even stop the bleeding amid Washington’s six-game skid, and how will this affect Fantasy managers?
What Happened To Jayden Daniels?
Daniels injured himself during that Week 9 loss against the Seattle Seahawks, as he was seen on the ground in pain, surrounded by trainers. Video has shown that his arm was bent towards an unnatural angle, which soon led to it being discovered that he had a dislocated elbow. Despite this, the Commanders did not place him on the injured reserve, as the prognosis was that he could return within three to six weeks.
Despite this, he has still not returned, causing many to wonder when will the quarterback come back.
When Is Jayden Daniels Coming Back?
Jayden Daniels is still expected to not play on Week 12, but his return may be closer than what most people think. Insider Jeremy Fowler says that he could come back as early as Week 13 against the Denver Broncos. However, the situation is currently more complicated, as he could possibly miss even more.
“Washington’s situation with Daniels is more complicated from my view. Sources have maintained that while Daniels could return as quickly as three weeks from the occurrence of the injury (so, Week 13 vs. Denver),” wrote Fowler. “The team has loosely braced for a five-to-six-week absence just in case. That tells me that shutting him down remains a possibility, based on his durability this season (three separate injuries) and the team’s current standing.”
Should You Drop Jayden Daniels?
For now, Fantasy managers should still wait and see. While he is not expected to return by Week 12, as analysts have pointed out, he may be back as soon as next week, but that would be the optimistic view, as he could return around two to three weeks later. Daniels is an explosive quarterback, which means that dropping him could cost Fantasy managers a lot, so it should be better to hold for now.
Best Fantasy Replacement For Jayden Daniels This Week
For now, the Carolina Panthers’ Bryce Young is seeing his stock rise, and the Panthers have been doing good as of late and are in the playoff hunt. He should be a great replacement should managers choose to sit or drop Jayden Daniels.
