“Apologize For Praying”: Jason Whitlock Throws Out Sarcastic Reply Following Fan Backlash For Mark Sanchez Comments

Jason Whitlock was the center of attention on X after his prayers for Mark Sanchez, the former NFL quarterback, who was hospitalized in Indianapolis following a stabbing incident.

Whitlock put up a prayer post on X after learning about Sanchez’s stabbing.

Meanwhile, a fan accused Whitlock of assuming too much without realizing the full context of the situation. The angry fan had remarked, “You are everything wrong with social media.” The fan criticized him for sympathizing with a man who was called a drunk and an entitled individual involved in an assault, while asserting that his behavior did not deserve public sympathy.

Rather than engaging in a lengthy defense, Whitlock sarcastically shut down the fan’s remarks, writing:

“You busted me. I apologize for praying for Mark Sanchez to heal from his injuries. My behavior is everything wrong with America. Thank you for the rebuke. I’ll do better.”

FOX Sports released a statement reaffirming that they were concerned about their analyst’s health and respected his privacy during a difficult time. The network also promptly replaced Sanchez for Sunday broadcasting.

Mark Sanchez Faces Multiple Misdemeanors Amid Stabbing Incident

The incident unfolded on October 4 when the FOX Sports analyst was in Indianapolis, preparing to cover the Colts versus Raiders game. What started as a minor altercation over a parked delivery truck snowballed into violence, leaving Sanchez in critical condition with stab wounds.

According to reports made to police and documents filed in court, Sanchez confronted a 69-year-old delivery driver over his box truck blocking an alley by a loading dock. Eyewitnesses reported that Sanchez chased the elderly driver down and assaulted him.

The delivery driver feared for his life and, in fact, believed Sanchez was trying to kill him, so he used pepper spray on Sanchez in self-defense. When that failed to stop Sanchez’s aggression, the delivery driver used a knife in self-defense.

Sanchez was taken to a nearby hospital by first responders, where doctors declared his condition ‘critical.’ The former Jets quarterback has since stabilized; however, his recovery was complicated by legal issues. Police arrested Sanchez at the hospital and charged him with three misdemeanor offenses, including battery resulting in injury, unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, and public intoxication.
