Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley and several other Philadelphia Eagles stars had no answers for the shortcomings on the offense, and they might have implied the blame on offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo.
The Eagles came up short against the Dallas Cowboys in the 24-21 loss. The game had several lingering concerns on offense, most notably the running game. The Eagles could only register 63 rushing yards despite having Barkley in their lineup. In comparison, the Cowboys registered almost double, 125 rushing yards on offense.
In the post-game interview, Hurts had “no” answer to the offensive collapse in the second half as the Eagles were shut down.
“No.”

Meanwhile, Saquon Barkley gave a more detailed answer, as he expressed unhappiness with how the Eagles were using him on offense.
“We gotta go respond,” Barkley told reporters. “We didn’t do that, we got to do a better job of putting teams away. We didn’t do that and I definitely didn’t help. Obviously last year and in other games I was a big part of that and it’s been kind of nonexistent this year. I got to figure it out for the team and I’m going to get it right. I’ll figure it out.”

There’s a reason why Barkley said this. The running back has only been able to rush for 684 yards on 185 carries, including four touchdowns in 2025 so far. Last year, he finished the season with 2,005 rushing yards.
Eagles offensive tackle Fred Johnson also had no idea why the offense is struggling on the ground. He asked reporters to ask this question to the offensive coordinator.
“I have no idea. I’m not a coach,” he said.
Eagles HC Nick Sirianni Admits Coaching Responsibility After Loss Vs Cowboys
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni accepted the defeat and pointed out several reasons why the team didn’t perform well in the second half. He admitted that the coaching was also not good enough.
“We’ve just got to get up. We’ve got a short week,” Sirianni said. “We didn’t coach well enough. We didn’t play well enough. And when there’s the amount of mistakes that we had, some of the self-inflicted wounds … I’m always going to put that on me as a head coach.”
After the latest loss, the Eagles have dropped to 8-3. They are still on top of the NFC East by some margin, but they need to get their affairs in order, as the Cowboys are surging from behind.
