Carolina Panthers Jalen Coker has not had an ideal start to his second NFL season. After a solid rookie year in 2024, Coker was hoping to take a big step forward in 2025. However, he suffered a quad injury in August that resulted in him being placed on the injured reserve. This made him ineligible to play for the first four weeks of the season. Coker has been eligible to return since last week. There is a possibility he could return for Sunday’s game against Dallas, but it is not a guarantee.
What Happened to Jalen Coker?
Jalen Coker suffered a quad injury in August. This resulted in him going on the injured reserve, making him ineligible for the first four games of the season. However, it appears that it did not matter because he continued to miss time last week against Miami in the team’s fifth game of the year.
Will Jalen Coker Play This Week?
Coker appears to be making progress in his recovery. He returned to practice in a full capacity for the first time since his injury on Wednesday. He continued to be a full participant on Thursday, which is a promising sign for his return.
However, head coach Dave Canales has not committed to saying Coker will return this week.
“He looked good,” Dave Canales said. “He ran crisp routes, he looks fast, he looks like Jalen. And we wanna make sure that he can put the volume of this full week in before we make a decision on whether to bring him up this week or not.”
Carolina fans will be hoping he returns this week because the biggest play of his career came against the Cowboys last season.

Jalen Coker Fantasy Outlook
According to Fantasy Pros, Jalen Coker is the No. 85-ranked wide receiver in fantasy. He has the potential to break out when he returns, but as a largely unproven second-year player, he does not rank high as a fantasy option.
Coker is a solid option for players looking for some wide receiver depth. He has upside, but he should not be in the starting lineup for players as of yet. It is also not confirmed that he will return this week. So, players can add him to their roster, but leave him on the bench.
