Jacksonville Jaguars rookie Travis Hunter underwent surgery to repair his torn lateral collateral ligament (LCL) in his right knee. Last month, the Jaguars shared that the season ending surgey was a success and no additional ACL damage was found.
On Tuesday, a video was posted on the internet where Hunter was seen on crutches with a knee brace. Hunter downplayed the pictorial and, therefore, the injury as he jokingly said:
“This ain’t nothing to me. I’m bout to be running a 40 yd dash by tomorrow.”

Through this video, Hunter conveyed that his recovery after surgery is going well. While he’s still on crutches and will need medical clearance before he can take the field again.
Hunter suffered the season-ending injury during a Jaguars practice on October 30, 2025. Earlier, it was found that his ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) was intact, but further evaluation revealed that his lateral collateral ligament (LCL) in his right knee was torn, thereby requiring season-ending surgery in the first place.
In the meantime, he is cheering the Jaguars in several ways, as the team is first in the AFC South with an 11-4 record. They have already booked a spot in the playoffs, but they will have to do without the services of their second overall pick.
Travis Hunter Makes Headlines Even While Injured
Travis Hunter traveled with the Jaguars on the road with his wife, Leanna, and their newborn for the Week 16 game against the Denver Broncos in Colorado. This is where Hunter was shot in the above video.
At the game at Mile High, Hunter interacted with fans and cheered the Jaguars alongside his wife and young child.
Despite Hunter’s absence, the Jaguars looks prime to make a deep run this playoffs under quarterback Trevor Lawrence and head coach Liam Coen.
In the meantime, it is expected to take at least six months before Hunter can start any kind of football activities. Therefore, all he can do is watch how far the Jaguars go.
