The Kansas City Chiefs have been missing their top running back, Isiah Pacheco, for a few weeks now. However, the two-time Super Bowl winner may be returning soon. ESPN’s senior NFL insider, Adam Schefter, dropped some big news of his return, saying that the injured running back could return on Thursday, when the Chiefs take on the Dallas Cowboys on the road.

Pacheco, who injured himself against the Washington Commanders, sprained his MCL and was listed as questionable over the last few games and then missing them entirely. For their showdown against the Cowboys, however, his return is now almost certain.
Pacheco is considered the Chiefs’ biggest rushing threat, with him being able to stretch defenses along with the team’s other big scoring threats like Rashee Rice, Travis Kelce, and Xavier Worthy. When he was out, the Chiefs running game took a hit, and his return could spark its already-strong offense even more.
For this season, Isiah Pacheco already has 329 rushing yards on 78 carries, averaging 4.2 yards per carry but has only scored one rushing touchdown so far. He is also a receiving threat though, as he already has 43 receiving yards on 11 receptions and one receiving touchdown. Given that Patrick Mahomes has a lot of other viable targets, his lack of touchdowns is quite understandable.
What Does Isiah Pacheco’s Return Mean For Kareem Hunt Fantasy Owners?
While Isiah Pacheco’s return is considered a big boon for Kansas City Chiefs fans, this might also mean that the stock for his backup, Kareem Hunt, may be coming down soon. Hunt has been playing as the Chiefs starting running back while Pacheco had been out of commission, with Fantasy managers picking him up since Pacheco got injured.
For those managers who picked him up because of Pacheco’s injury, it should be easy for them to sit Hunt down and have Pacheco start, given that they kept Pacheco in the first place. If not, picking Pacheco back up should be a wise decision.
For those who never had Pacheco but have Hunt, then the time to pick Pacheco up should be now.
