Is Tucker Kraft Playing Today? Green Bay TE’s Injury Status vs Cleveland Browns Explored

After his best game of the season so far in a win against the Washington Commanders, Green Bay Packers TE Tucker Kraft got hurt in practice. He reportedly injured his knee on Thursday, which raises the question of whether he will be able to play in their Week 3 showdown against the Cleveland Browns.

According to NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo, Tucker Kraft only tweaked his knee and did not injure himself seriously. The injury was so minor that he is reportedly good to go on Sunday as the Packers take on the struggling Browns.

“The Green Bay Packers tight end is expected to play in Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns after suffering a knee injury in practice earlier this week,” the report noted.

It is still unclear if his workload against the Browns will be limited, however, though he did miss a practice after he tweaked his knee, leading to him getting the “questionable” status ahead of Sunday’s game. Should he play without limitations, he is expected to carry more workload that usual, as wide receivers Jayden Reed (shoulder, foot) and Christian Watson (knee) are currently out with injuries.

During that win against the Commanders, he had his best game of the season so far, getting six catches for 124 yards and also scoring a touchdown. He currently leads Green Bay in catches with eight, receptions at 11 and receiving yards with 140. There are still some concerns with his knee heading into Sunday’s game, however.

Green Bay Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur Talks About Tucker Kraft’s Injury

Ahead of the showdown against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, Packers coach Matt LaFleur opted not to let Tucker Kraft practice on Friday after that injury scare the day before. This was when they listed him as questionable after the tight end tweaked his knee on Thursday, with the coach talking about how they were approaching the injury:

“Just like we do with all these guys, we’ll give him up to gametime,” the packers head coach told reporters. “But he’s got to, more than anything, he’s got to feel confident and be cleared at the same time.”

This comes at an important time for the Commanders, especially with wide receiver Jayden Reed recently undergoing foot surgery and wide receiver Christian Watson still recovering from his ACL surgery.

After the Browns, the packers will be taking on the Dallas Cowboys for Week 4 and then have a bye week on Week 5.
