The Green Bay Packers have been badly beaten up these past few weeks, as some of their star players have been dealing with injuries. Among them is running back Josh Jacobs, who got hurt with a knee injury against the New York Giants on Week 11.
Since Jacobs was integral to the team, he immediately got tested, though no structural damage was found, with the tests revealing he suffered a contusion with some swelling and pain in his knee. The question now is, will he be available for Week 12 against the Minnesota Vikings?
Josh Jacobs Injury Update
Before the team’s Nov. 19 practice session, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur spoke with reporters and gave some updates regarding some of the team’s injured players, including running back Josh Jacobs. He revealed that the running back is not participating during that practice day but was optimistic on his return for Week 12.
“The plan is to try to get him healthy enough to go. It’s just going to be a day-by-day thing,” LeFleur told reporters.
Will Josh Jacobs Play Week 12?
So, what does LeFluer’s comments mean ahead of the Week 12 showdown against the Minnesota Vikings? That means that Jacobs’ status is currently questionable and that the team is just waiting to see if he would have recovered enough to play on Sunday. For now, the team is still testing him and looking if he would be good enough to practice before even deciding on having him play.
Josh Jacobs Fantasy Outlook
For now, Josh Jacobs’ Fantasy outlook is still up in the air, though LeFleur does sound optimistic about the running back playing against the Vikings on Sunday. It should be best for Fantasy managers to just hold and wait to see if the team clears him to compete before either starting him, sitting him or picking him up.
Fantasy Replacements If Josh Jacobs Misses This Week
There is still a possibility that Jacobs might play during Week 12, but if the Packers decide to rest him up against the Vikings, his more probable replacement should be Emanuel Wilson, who has had limited playing time but now has the chance to surprise many and help his team out should their RB1 not play.
Sean Tucker had been great last week for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was one of their few bright spots in that loss to the Buffalo Bills, and he has been stepping up since Bucky Irving got injured. Fantasy managers ought to consider him as a waiver wire pick for the injured Jacobs.
