Will Josh Jacobs Play Week 17? Everything Fantasy Owners Need to Know About Packers RB Status Ahead of Raven Matchup

Entering Week 17 with a 9-5-1 record, the Green Bay Packers are in a must-win situation, following its Week 16 heartbreaking loss to the Chicago Bears.

Despite the loss, the Packers are currently the No. 7 seed in the NFC, and would be playoff bound if the regular season ended today. That being said, they have to take care of business the next two weeks to increase its chances to clinch a playoff berth.

Green Bay clinches a playoff spot by winning one of its last two games or having the Detroit Lions losing one of its final two games.

As the Packers prepare to take on the Baltimore Ravens this week, a key number of guys could be inactive or limited, including running back Josh Jacobs.

    What Happened to Josh Jacobs?

Josh Jacobs has been dealing with knee swelling since Week 11. The injury hasn’t caused him to miss much time, but it has caused him to appear on the injury list the past few weeks with his game status in doubt multiple times.

Jacobs didn’t practice at all last week leading up to the team’s Week 16 game against the Chicago Bears, but he did play, with a limited snap count.

Is Josh Jacobs Playing in Week 17?

So far, Josh Jacobs is on the right track to play against the Baltimore Ravens this week. With the Packers beginning practice today on Wednesday, Jacobs took part and practiced.

Though he is still dealing with his knee issue, he will be practicing in a limited capacity this week according to head coach Matt LaFleur.

Jacobs has rushed for 926 yards an 13 rushing touchdowns this season. He’s been one of the more productive running backs in the NFL for a second straight season.

If Jacobs is inactive (which he shouldn’t be), backup running back Emanuel Wilson should be in line for a big workload, and potentially a big fantasy day. Wilson has been spelling Jacobs the last few seasons, and even had a two-touchdown, 107 rushing-yard performance on Nov. 23.
