The Miami Dolphins need a win on Thursday as they are still winless after their first two games. One blow the Dolphins suffered was to wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, who injured his shoulder in Week 1 against the Indianapolis Colts, but did play in that loss to the New England Patriots in Week 2, even catching five passes for 68 yards and a touchdown despite the injured shoulder.
The question now is, will the star wide receiver be playing against the Buffalo Bills on Thursday? Waddle’s status was downgraded to limited in practice as he started practicing bit by bit despite the shoulder injury. However, he is currently listed as questionable for the Dolphins’ Week 3 showdown at Buffalo.
It is still not certain if Jaylen Waddle will be playing, but there is a small chance he will take the field. The Bills have one of the most dynamic offenses in the NFL, and the Dolphins need a wide receiver like Waddle in order to keep up with Josh Allen’s plays. Until the game begins, his availability against Buffalo is still unknown, though a report from CBS Sports indicated that he will be testing his shoulder pre-game.

Malik Washington and Tyreek Hill will be the ones to step up should Waddles miss the game, though Hill has been struggling during his last few games and is even asking to be traded. The Dolphins have since noted that they want to keep Hill, who is facing some personal problems as he is in a highly public divorce battle.
As the Dolphins are slumping, their opponents on Thursday, the Buffalo Bills, remain undefeated at 2-0 and are 12.5-point favorites, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. They are also holding the home field against the visiting Dolphins, so Miami needs to step up on both ends, though losing Waddle could make their situation more complicated.
Jaylen Waddle Talks About Facing Undefeated Buffalo Bills
As for Waddle, he is aware of the pressure that the Miami Dolphins have heading to that Week 3 showdown against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills, saying in an interview with NBC Sports that they will be trying their best to win the game.
“We’re just trying to play the best ball that we can, go out there and compete at a high level, do our jobs and get a win,” he said.
The Dolphins have lost 15 of their last 17 games against the Bills, with the last time Miami won happening on Sept. 25, 2022, when Jaylen Waddle was still in high school.
