The Atlanta Falcons may have been eliminated from Playoff contention, but they are trying to end the season strong, though it may be without star wide receiver Drake London. The Falcons will be in action on Thursday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and there are questions if Atlanta’s best wide receiver will be able to play.
London has missed three straight games already, getting injured in that Week 11 overtime loss against the Carolina Panthers in November. He is regarded as the best wide receiver for the team, and his absence could spell trouble for the Falcons against the Bucs.
Drake London Injury Update
With Thursday’s showdown fast approaching, it was revealed that London missed all three practice days ahead of the showdown against the Buccaneers. He suffered a knee injury, which was later revealed to be a PCL sprain. While it is not that serious, this sort of injury would still be enough to sideline him for a few weeks.
Is Drake London Playing Today vs. the Buccaneers?
Soon after it was revealed that London missed practice again, the team announced that he will be missing Thursday’s big game against the Bucs. This will be the fourth straight game he has missed since his Week 11 injury, which now has many asking if he is actually done for the season already.
Drake London Fantasy Outlook
Drake London, despite being in a lackluster team like the Atlanta Falcons, does put up some numbers that would make any Fantasy manager proud. However, with him missing his fourth game in a row, it would be best to have him sit out this week. It should also be noted that his not practicing after being injured for four weeks may be a bad sign that he may be out longer than many have expected, even if his injury is not that serious.
Drake London Fantasy Replacements
With London out, teammate Darnell Mooney is set to be the No. 1 target and would be a viable Fantasy replacement for him, if managers don’t have him already. In terms of waiver wire targets, Casey Washington should also be a good pickup for Fantasy managers looking for a replacement. Dylan Drummond, who may be the one to replace him on the field on Thursday, would also be a wise choice.
