The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are looking to get back on track, and a return from running back Bucky Irving would help them a lot. Irving has not played since suffering a foot injury in Week 4 in a 31-25 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. While he has been making positive progress in his recovery, a return date has not been announced.
Bucky Irving Injury Update
Bucky Irving did not play on Sunday when the Bucs lost 44-32 to the Buffalo Bills. However, he did make positive progress in his recovery. After being a DNP at practice since his injury, Irving returned as a limited participant at practice on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. As a result, there is hope he could return soon.
Will Bucky Irving Play Week 12?
There has not been an official announcement that Irving is returning to the lineup yet. However, after his practice appearances last week, there is hope he could return in Week 12 against the Los Angeles Rams.
Irving was a limited participant in all practices last week, so that is where we expect him to start this week. However, if he is upgraded to a full participant at any time this week, we would expect him to draw into the lineup. An official announcement likely will not come until later in the week.
Bucky Irving Fantasy Outlook
When available, Bucky Irving is a solid fantasy option. In four games this season, he had 71 carries for 237 yards. He gets a lot of usage from the Bucs coaching staff, and we would expect that to continue when he returns to the lineup. Rachaad White and Sean Tucker have gotten most of the snaps with Irving out, but we expect him to step back into the starting role when he returns.
Fantasy Replacements If Bucky Irving Misses This Week
There is no guarantee that Bucky Irving will return to the lineup this week, so fantasy owners need to prepare for the possibility of his absence. Fortunately for them, there should be some strong options on your waiver wire.
We are fans of Green Bay’s Emmanuel Wilson, who is going up ain’t Minnesota this week. He has gotten an increased share of the snaps in recent weeks. If you want to stick with a player on the Bucs, Sean Tucker is a good option. He had a breakout 106-yard performance last week and appears to be favored by the coaching staff right now.
