Is Aaron Rodgers Going To Play Today? What Fantasy Owners Need to Know About Steelers QB Status Ahead of Week 12

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been a great signing this offseason for the black and gold, as he’s led them to a 6-4 record and holding first place in the AFC North heading into Week 12.

Rodgers has thrown for 1,969 yards, 19 touchdowns, and seven interceptions on the season. But in the Steelers’ Week 11 win against the Cincinnati Bengals, Rodgers left the game after taking a hard sack and injuring his wrist.

Tests later revealed that Rodgers suffered a small fracture in his non-throwing hand. The injury caused him to be questionable heading into this Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears.

Will Aaron Rodgers Play Today vs. Bears?

No, Aaron Rodgers will not play today against the Chicago Bears. Head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed with reporters a little over two hours before kickoff that Rodgers would be out today due to his wrist injury.

Rodgers, being the tough player that he is, will likely try to push to play next week when the Steelers face the Buffalo Bills.

Who is Aaron Rodgers Replacement For Today vs. Bears?

With Aaron Rodgers out today, backup Mason Rudolph will get the start vs. the Chicago Bears. Rudolph came in for Rodgers in last week’s game and had  solid performance, completing 12 of 16 passes for 127 yards and a touchdown.

Rudolph makes his 14th career start with the Steelers and has an 8-4-1 record as the Steelers’ quarterback. Rudolph was drafted in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Steelers. He re-signed with the Steelers this offseason after spending the 2024 season with the Tennessee Titans.

Today’s game kicks off at 1:00 p.m. ET at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois. The Bears are currently three point favorites and hour and a half before kickoff.
