Green Bay Packers RB Depth Chart: Latest Update and Position Outlook for Week 8

The Green Bay Packers are currently sitting atop the NFC North with four wins and one loss and have been on a two-game winning streak so far. However, like every single team out there, they are not immune from the injury bug. One of the most affected positions this season have been the running backs, and the Packers have already had two of them hurt.

Several teams in the league, such as the Minnesota Vikings and the Los Angeles Chargers, have suffered big losses in their running back rooms already, so heading into Week 8, how do the Green Bay Packers fare? Compared to other teams, their running back room also looks a bit banged up as they head to Week 8 to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Green Bay Packers Running Back Depth Chart For Week 8

    RB1 – Josh Jacobs – Questionable

Heading into Week 8’s matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. projected starting running back Josh Jacobs, who is currently dealing with a calf injury, is listed as questionable, though he did have limited practice on Thursday. Head coach Matt LaFleur noted that Jacobs was “begging for more reps” last Wednesday.

The running back reportedly suffered a calf injury in that win over the Arizona Cardinals last week, though his recovery seems to be going fine as he has been practicing with the team already. However, the team still needs to evaluate if he is indeed ready to go, and this might be revealed by Friday after their final practice ahead of the game against the Steelers.

    RB2 – Emanuel Wilson

Should Jacobs not be allowed to play due to his calf injury, it will be Wilson who might start for the Packers. He has been relatively quiet so far this season, only getting seven touches and having just 15 total receiving yards, but he should get plenty of chances should Jacobs not be cleared to play on Sunday.

    RB3 – Chris Brooks

Chris Brooks is quite healthy heading into Week 8, though he has not gotten the chance to shine yet after only getting two rushing yards on two attempts with no touchdown scored.

    RB4 – MarShawn Lloyd – Injured Reserve

MarShawn Lloyd has been out for some time now, suffering from a hamstring injury. He is not expected to be cleared to play for the Packers on Sunday, as he is currently rehabilitating his injuries.
