Giants Head Coach Search: $25,000,000 Worth Former NFL Linebacker Emerges, Months After Brian Daboll Exit

The New York Giants are looking for a head coach after firing Brian Daboll during the 2025 season, following a lackluster start, leading to Mike Kafka being named as interim head coach to finish the season. Despite the poor performance, the Giants have retained general manager Joe Schoen, who is tasked to lead the search for the Giants’ next head coach.

According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Giants will interview former NFL linebacker Antonio Pierce for the position. Pierce, who is worth $25 million (via Celebrity Net Worth), coached the Las Vegas Raiders last season. Pierce led the franchise to a 4-13 record and was later fired, thereby ending his brief reign as head coach with a 9-17 overall record.

Apart from Pierce, the Giants’ head coach position is associated with other candidates as well, including Mike McCarthy, Jeff Hafley, Lou Anarumo, and interim coach Mike Kafka. McCarthy is a veteran head coach with Super Bowl experience. The Giants might also want to turn attention to the hottest commodity in the head coach market, John Harbaugh, who was fired by the Baltimore Ravens after 18 seasons.

Giants Interviewing Raheem Morris and Broncos DC As Well

In another report from the New York Post, the Giants are also interviewing Raheem Morris for the position. The former Atlanta Falcons head coach was fired on Sunday despite ending the season with a four-game winning streak. Morris is also reportedly associated with vacancies at the Tennessee Titans and the Arizona Cardinals.

Morris won the Super Bowl as a defensive coordinator. He was one of the youngest NFL head coaches when he led the Buccaneers to a 17-31 record in three seasons. He was made the interim head coach for the Falcons in 2020, going 4-7 in the position. Over the last two seasons, he has gone 16-18.

Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph is also on the short list for an interview. Mike Kafka will also get his chance to make his case to become the head coach from the interim position. Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo was asked for an interview. Meanwhile, there is also a sense that Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley will also be properly considered for the position.
