San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle will have to hit the road for the wildcard matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. The 49ers lost the home-field advantage in the playoffs after losing 13-3 in the final regular-season game against the Seattle Seahawks.
On Monday, Kittle’s wife, Claire, shared a cozy kissing moment after the final regular-season game. She accompanied a strong message along with the picture:
“Losing home-field advantage hurts. What a dream that would’ve been. But this team’s resilience and grit all season has been incredible to witness. Overlooked, counted out, doubted and still in the fight. Proud of these guys always. 0-0. We’ll take it on the road.”

The 49ers finished with a 12-5 record, tying them for second place along with the LA Rams in the NFC West division. The Seahawks, with a 14-3 record, won the division instead.
In the final regular-season game, Kittle caught five receptions for 29 yards. Over the season, he has caught 57 receptions for 628 yards and seven touchdowns, averaging 11.0 yards per reception.
George Kittle Admits Being Mature Because Of Claire
Claire plays an important role in the life of the 49ers tight end. George Kittle met his future wife at the University of Iowa. Their first eight months went as friends before their relationship turned romantic. They eventually got married in April 2019.
“The first time I saw Claire, I was a freshman in college. I was 18 at the University of Iowa,” he said. “I saw her and I was like, ‘G****** who is that?’”
When Kittle was drafted by the 49ers in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL draft, he wasn’t sure if Claire would move with him to San Francisco, but she did. He said Claire made him mature as a person.
“She’s such an important part of my life. She’s helped me grow and become a more mature person. Someone who can actually handle my s***,” he said. “Her smile basically brightens up every room that she’s in.”
Claire makes sure to attend almost every game of Kittle at Levi’s Stadium. She wears customized outfits while cheering for the tight end from the seats.
