San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle has now settled back after missing a big part of the season due to injury and now, it seems that he got injured again. The Niners now have enough wins to make it to the playoffs, so when they take on the Seahawks, there are some questions if the team will rest him or let him play as they do not really need to win this one.
The team does want to take the No. 1 seed in the NFC though, so they might need him. Officially, Kittle has been listed as questionable due to his ankle sprain, and has practiced ahead of the Week 18 showdown vs. the Seahawks, which is a good sign. However, reports also noted that he had missed some practices ahead of the game.
While he has been deemed questionable, Kittle himself has been rather optimistic about his chances, telling reporters that he will “absolutely” play against Seattle on Saturday.

While George Kittle himself has been a very optimistic about his chances of playing, that may not be the stance of the team’s doctors, so there is still a chance that he might not be playing on Saturday. However, the injury itself is not that serious, so it is very likely that he would be playing. Still, this might be a gametime decision as the game itself draws ever nearer.
49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Stresses Importance Of George Kittle vs. Seahawks
With George Kittle listed as questionable, QB Brock Purdy might possibly be without one of his best weapons on Saturday, and this sentiment was echoed by Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan, who said that the team needs him against the Seahawks.
“The more good players you have out there, everyone knows Kittle’s a great player,” Shanahan said. “We’re going against a great defense, a great team. So, it’s definitely huge to have everyone on board who is capable of it.”
Aside from George Kittle, several other 49ers players were listed as questionable, including WR Ricky Pearsall (knee, ankle), CB Upton Stout (concussion), DL Keion White (groin) and T Trent Williams (hamstring). The final decision for them could be announced 90 minutes until game time.
