“Geno Smith Sucks” Trends Online After Raiders QB Plays Through Injury In Costly TNF Loss To Broncos

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Geno Smith came out loser in the 10-7 game against the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football. Smith completed 16 of 26 passes for 143 yards and threw one interception.  ‘

There were several opportunities in the game where the Raiders could have capitalized. The biggest of them all was missing a 48-yard field goal with roughly 4:26 remaining. Had the kick been successful, they could’ve tied the game.

Moreover, at one point in the game, Smith’s offense went through a stretch of seven straight drives without a first down. They missed to account for snaps due to penalties, sacks and dropped passes.

He also hurt himself in the fourth quarter, leading to “Geno Smith sucks” reactions online.

“Geno Smith sucks!” one fan simply said.

“Geno Smith needs to be benched. That guy sucks !” one fan wrote.

“I actually cannot believe that Geno smith, who is a HORRENDOUS player on TWO feet. Was in the game hobbling around and yet, Jeanty gets us down there and Carlson misses the kick anyway. This shit sucks so bad man. I can’t believe this is my team. #Raiders,” another fan commented.

“Pete kept crippled Geno Smith in there for two crucial 4th quarter series. Geno sucks healthy. Granted the back ups are below average too. Yet, Geno was hobbling so bad. Christ! I do want to thank you for getting Pete fired. 8-2 dude. Get the West! 👊” one fan appreciated Broncos while taking a jab at Smith.

“This team has good players and can’t do anything! What a Disgrace and Geno Smith FK sucks!! Give the Money back!!” one fan highlighted Smith’s two-year, $75 million contract.

“Raiders defense wasn’t the problem. That offense sucks so bad and Geno Smith doesn’t make it any better,” one fan reacted.

    Did Geno Smith Get Hurt?

Early in the fourth quarter, Geno Smith suffered a quad contusion. During the scramble, he was tripped by Nik Bonitto, landing under heavy contact from Malcolm Roach. Smith had to leave the field for evaluation. However, he returned two snaps later though he was visibly limping and battling through pain.

Raiders head coach Pete Carroll lauded Smith for going back out despite the injury.

“He wanted to go back in in the worst way,” Carroll said. “He wanted to finish the game for his teammates. He got whacked in the quad, got a quad bruise or something, contusion, whatever it is. He got smacked. That’s just him fighting.”

Despite Smith’s battling on the field through play, he couldn’t avoid the fate.
