The New York Jets may have avoided a winless season for 2025, but it has still been a tough season for them nonetheless. As the end of their season nears, the Jets have also suffered a few costly injuries, including one to wide receiver Garrett Wilson. He got injured during that Week 10 win over the Cleveland Browns two weeks ago and may miss a few weeks. The question now is, will he be able to play on Week 13 against the Atlanta Falcons?
This is already the second time that the Jets wide receiver has suffered an injury this season, and him being out could greatly affect the Jets offense, which is considered one of the worst in the league right now.
What Happened To Garrett Wilson?
During Week 6, Garrett Wilson hyperextended his knee, which led him to miss several games. He returned again, only to reaggravate that knee injury during that win over the Browns. To prevent himself from getting injured any further, he was placed on the injured reserve, which means that he will be out for at least four games. Note that the rules for the injured reserves say games, not weeks, so bye weeks usually do not count.
Is Garrett Wilson Playing Week 13?
He got placed on the injured reserve ahead of the Week 11 showdown against the New England Patriots, which means he would miss Weeks 11 to 14. This includes the Week 13 showdown against the Atlanta Falcons, so yes, he will be out because of the injured reserve rules.
He will be eligible to return on Week 15 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but this is not guaranteed that he will be able to return around that time, as he may still be hurt, even after the required 4-game period is over.
Garrett Wilson Fantasy Outlook
With Garrett Wilson being expected to be out on Week 13 and also 14, it would be best to sit him out or drop him completely, given that there are only a few games left in the regular season and the Jets being more than likely to miss the playoffs. Heading to the waiver wire should be the best solution right now.
Fantasy Replacements For Garrett Wilson This Week
With Garrett out for at least two weeks more and the Jets possibly not making the playoffs again, several wide receiver waiver wire choices could make sense, including Alec Pierce of the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts are likely entering the playoffs and he has been playing great for the team, with his stock rising fast.
For those looking for short-term signings, Parker Washington of the Jacksonville Jaguars is also looking good. Their next game is against the Arizona Cardinals, which he should shine against.
