“Time To Get Him Back Out There”: Former Pro Bowler Demands Bills Reinstate Keon Coleman After Ugly Loss to Texans

Former Pro Bowler Robert Griffin III vouched for Keon Coleman to get back in the starting lineup for the Buffalo Bills after their terrible loss against the Houston Texans. In the 23-19 loss, quarterback Josh Allen was sacked eight times as he might have missed the presence of a second-year wide receiver.

Coleman missed his second straight game when he was a healthy scratch against the Texans. He is getting disciplined by the club after the wide receiver missed a mandatory meeting before last week’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

While Allen might have shone in the game against the Bucs, the story was completely different on Thursday, leading to Griffin asking for the reinstatement of Coleman. He tweeted:

“Keon Coleman has to be out for the Buffalo Bills. You sat him down for 2 straight weeks. 1 Week Josh was Superman and it worked. This week it didn’t. He learned his lesson. Time to get him back out there.”

In his absence, Allen threw two interceptions while completing 70.6% of his passes for 253 yards. The game before, he threw for 317 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions.

Robert Griffin III is not the only former NFL star who commented on the Coleman situation. Even legendary tight end Shannon Sharpe believes so, while his co-host Chad Johnson said that the second straight game healthy scratch should mean that Coleman is not that important to the team.

Bills HC Reveals Reason Behind Benching Healthy Keon Coleman

It was the second time Keon Coleman was disciplined by the Bills. Last year, he was benched in the first quarter against the Jacksonville Jaguars for not being on time.

This time, Coleman acknowledged that he needs to be better and be professional. Meanwhile, head coach Sean McDermott also shed light on the situation, saying that the suspension will help Coleman.

“It is disappointing [Coleman was in a situation to be disciplined again], but I still believe in the young man, and we get to a certain point and I’ve gotta do something,” McDermott said. “I try and give the guys some — a kind of a strike approach. Hey, you get a chance to show your teammates that’s not really who you are. And then, when it happens again, then I step in. So, I believe he will learn from it. He takes it seriously, and he will move forward in a way of growing from this, and that’s the whole goal.”

It remains to be seen if the Bills reinstate Coleman for their next week’s game.
