It’s officially the time of the year for owners to start finalizing their rosters. Playoffs are coming up, and rosters need to be perfect down the stretch. For some managers, this means it’s time for roster cuts. Here are the top names to drop heading into Week 10.
Top Smart Cuts to Make in Week 10 ft. Alvin Kamara
1. Tucker Kraft – Green Bay Packers
Kraft is out for the year with a torn ACL. Unfortunately for owners, that means he won’t be playing another game this season. While it was a good ride with Kraft, it is time to let him go.
2. Chuba Hubbard – Carolina Panthers
Hubbard is another name that generated a lot of excitement heading into the season. However, Rico Dowdle has taken over in the backfield and hasn’t looked back. Hubbard is losing the snap count and isn’t holding value on fantasy benches anymore.
3. Chimere Dike – Tennessee Titans
Quite frankly, this could go towards any of the Titans’ skill positions. The Titans are struggling to move the ball through the air, and there is no reason to hold on to Dike anymore. With tough matchups against Houston and Seattle coming up, Dike should be on the waiver wire.
4. Tua Tagovailoa – Miami Dolphins
Tagovailoa shouldn’t really be on rosters right now. On offense, the Dolphins are one of the worst teams in the NFL. To add insult to injury, Miami just fired its general manager, Chris Grier. With no offense, Tagovailoa shouldn’t be on rosters.
5. Alvin Kamara – New Orleans Saints
This might be a surprising name on this list, but Kamara is struggling. He is down to 2.3 yards per carry, and he isn’t catching the ball either. Also, Kamara has only one game over 100 yards. This is looking like a ‘get out while you still can’ situation.
6. Courtland Sutton – Denver Broncos
Dropping Broncos seems like a bad decision right now, but Sutton is losing targets every week. Troy Franklin and Marvin Mims are both getting more looks than Sutton. If there are better options available, Sutton is one of the guys who has to go.
7. Brashard Smith – Kansas City Chiefs
Smith was a potential option when Isiah Pacheco got hurt in Week 9. Unfortunately for owners who jumped the gun, Smith was ineffective. With only 7 rushing yards against the Bills, Smith shouldn’t be on rosters for the time being.
Bottom Line
Letting go of players isn’t an easy decision for fantasy owners, but it’s something necessary. Players who aren’t helping teams win will have to hit the waivers for better replacements. Depth on the roster could be the difference between a championship and a first-round exit.
