Another week of NFL football is over. With it comes some winners and losers in the fantasy football world. If your team survived, congratulations and welcome to the next round. If not, good luck next year. Week 16 will be another elimination week. Let’s get your lineup ready, starting with the tight end slot.
Week 16 Start ‘Em or Sit ‘Em Tight Ends
Start ‘Em
Brenton Strange, Jaguars
Strange is simple. He is too hot to go anywhere near a bench right now. The Jaguars are on a roll, and Strange clearly has had a big role in that. The Broncos will be a tougher opponent, but they haven’t been the best against tight ends this year. Strange is must start this week.
Darren Waller, Dolphins
This one took some time before it was trustworthy, but Waller’s numbers speak for themself. He also has the best matchup on the board against the Bengals. Cincinnati has struggled against tight ends, allowing over twenty points to tight ends. They are also already eliminated from the playoffs, making the rest of the season testing for 2026. Waller should be a great sleeper pick this week.
Dallas Goedert, Eagles
The Eagles finally had a bounce-back game vs the Raiders, and Goedert was right there with them. TE1 for Philly went for 25 fantasy points. This week, the Commanders will come into town, which should be great for Godert. He is definitely a must-start for fantasy owners.
Sit ‘Em
Tyler Warren, Colts
Tyler Warren came into the season as one of the best tight ends in fantasy. Now, that is not the case at all. The Colts are playing with Phillip Rivers. And while Rivers has a lot of potential, the Colts will primarily keep the ball on the ground. Warren is going to be tough to start until QB1 can be more comfortable moving the ball down the field.
Colston Loveland, Bears
Loveland has gotten plenty of attention since emerging as one of the better tight ends in the league. This week will be tough for him, though. The Packers have been limiting tight ends, especially as of late. Loveland is not worth the risk and could easily be a bust this week.
T.J. Hockenson, Vikings
Hockenson got a bump after playing a horrible Dallas defense last week. This week, he has the Giants. The G-men have been great against tight ends in the last three games. They have only allowed three receptions total. Safe to say Hockenson should stay on the bench for better options until next week.
Bottom Line
Sometimes it is hard to bench star players. But right now, owners can’t worry about that. It is now deep into the playoffs, and every single point could be the difference between winning and going home. Stay vigilant on the waivers and set lineups early. No one wants to go home for simple mistakes that could have easily been fixed earlier in the week. Good luck this week!
