NFL Fantasy Football Injury Tracker Week 9: All We Know About Key Stars’ Status Ft. Lamar Jackson, Puka Nacua, And More

The playoff pushes for league managers have officially started as the fantasy football season enters Week 9. Any potential championship run will be heavily monitoring injury reports, as deep rosters will be essential. Here is the Week 9 fantasy injury report.

    Week 9 Injury Report

    Lamar Jackson (QB, Baltimore Ravens)

Lamar Jackson is expected to play this week. As a top pick in this year’s fantasy drafts, Jackson has missed the majority of the season so far. Now that he is healthy, the owners and Ravens’ fans could be in for a big weekend.

Puka Nacua (WR, Los Angeles Rams)

Nucua’s ankle still seems to be bothering him despite the extra week of rest that was given by the Rams’ bye. Coach Sean McVay said last week that he expects Nacua to be ready in Week 9, but owners might have to wait one more week. Monitor the news for this one. Nacua might not get confirmed until the game actually starts.

    Drake London (WR, Atlanta Falcons)

London is listed as day-day as of Monday. London owners should also be watching if Michael Penix is going to play this week as well. The Falcons’ offense didn’t look nearly the same when Penix sat out last week against Miami.

    Joshua Palmer (WR, Buffalo Bills)

Palmer is another receiver who is in a similar boat to London. After a Week 6 ankle injury, he is still considered week-to-week. Similar to London, the best route to go is a streaming option in case Palmer can’t give it a go on Sunday.

Garret Wilson (WR, New York Jets)

A backup for Wilson won’t be necessary this week as the Jets are on bye, but it wouldn’t hurt to shop around. After hyperextending his knee a few weeks ago, Wilson could return soon. The Jets seem optimistic he will be fine after the bye. For now, there is no official return date.

    Darren Waller (TE, Miami Dolphins)

Darren Waller has officially been put on the injured reserve. For owners, this means looking for another option at tight end as Dolphins backup Tanner Conner probably won’t cut it in most leagues.

    Joe Flacco (QB, Cincinnati Bengals)

After the Week 8 loss to the Jets, Joe Flacco also suffered a shoulder injury. Right now, he is listed as day-to-day according to head coach Zac Taylor, but a backup for the week should be essential for Flacco owners.

    J.J. McCarthy (QB, Minnesota Vikings)

Owners should simply stay away from McCarthy, as there has been speculation of his return for weeks. The ankle sprain he suffered in Week 2 seems like ages ago, yet there is no clear indication he will play this week. Stay away until Kevin O’Connell decides with his QBs.

    Final Thoughts

Lamar’s return is likely the most noteworthy return for fantasy owners. While many top fantasy receivers should get back into action this week, the waiver wire remains the top priority for owners. The playoffs are coming, and just getting in will be enough hope for a potential championship this year.
