“Jordan Travis Would’ve Saved Them”: Fans Unimpressed as Jets Make Brady Cook Decision Amid Tyrod Taylor, Justin Fields Injuries

The New York Jets named Brady Cook as their starting quarterback for Week 15 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, since both veteran QBs, Tyrod Taylor and Justin Fields, remain sidelined with injuries. Cook, a rookie, will make his first NFL start after making his debut last week by replacing Taylor.

Taylor suffered a groin injury in the Jets’ recent loss to the Miami Dolphins. Moreover, Justin Fields has been dealing with knee soreness.

In the wake of this development, fans shared their disappointing reactions. One fan mentioned about 2024 NFL draft’s fifth round pick Jordan Travis who is now medically retired:

    “Jordan Travis wouldve saved them”

“Brady Cook starting feels like the Jets hit the “surprise me” button on offense,” one fan wrote.

“We got Brady Cook props before GTA 6,” another reacted.

“Deploying Brady Cook is strictly a discovery trade. You are auditioning a micro-cap asset because the blue-chip QBs are insolvent. It’s not about winning; it’s about valuing the inventory before the offseason liquidation. The season is officially a tax write-off,” one fan commented.

“Fire up the Jags defense in fantasy this week,” another added.

“Everything will depend on the offensive line. The Jets have terrible QB protection…let’s hope they can contain the Jaguars. Otherwise, Brady Cook will be cannon fodder,” one fan feared the worst for Cook.

“starting brady cook is the jets admitting the rebuild is imaginary and we’re all just beta testing quarterbacks in public,” one fan wrote.

Brady Cook’s Opportunity To Sign For Jets

Brady Cook went under the radar in the 2025 NFL draft before the Jets signed him as an UDFA. He was elevated to the active roster on Dec. 6 after Justin Fields was removed from the roster due to his injury.

He has been receiving first-team reps in the wake of an injurious quarterback room. Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said that Cook gaining first-team experience is valuable.

The Jets are 3-10 on the season, so there’s no downside in going with an untested rookie.
