Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders, during a press conference ahead of his team’s Sunday fixture against the San Francisco 49ers, addressed all the outside noise pertaining to his gameplay.
Shedeur stated how it’s easy for people to analyze and say things on the sidelines, whilst there is a stark difference in actually playing and getting the job done on the field.
“Everybody can analyze and say whatever they want from the sideline, you can watch TV, talk on TV, whatever you want. But until you get out there and do it, it’s different,” Shedeur stated.
He also highlighted how it’s relatively easy for some backup veteran quarterbacks to come in and put up a good performance given their experience, which is not the same for a rookie quarterback, referencing his impressive performance against the Raiders in week 12.

A lot of fans perceived Shedeur’s statements to have hints of trash talk, asking the quarterback to slow down whilst calling out his characteristic behavior on X:
“This kid is running his mouth way too much for that performance, my goodness,” stated a fan.
“I’m glad he had a good first game. And. He is talking way too much for what his performance was,” said a fan.
“Bro is a good player but he needs to stop talking woow,” remarked a fan.
“Humility is all you need,” commented a fan.
“Bro beat the fucking raiders and he’s acting like he’s the next Steve McNair,” said another fan.
Meanwhile, there were also comments from fans supporting Shedeur’s trash talk, writing:
“Can’t imagine why every team in the NFL passed on him five times,” commented a fan referring to Shedeur’s draft position.
“HES GOING TO BE A FACTOR GOING FORWARD…,” stated another fan.
“Truths,” wrote another fan.
Shedeur was named a third-string quarterback at the start of the season, but Joe Flacco’s trade to the Bengals earlier in the season combined with Dillon Gabriel’s injury earlier against the Ravens got him his first NFL start of the season.
Shedeur Sanders Becomes Only The Second QB Son Of A Hall of Famer To Start An NFL Game
Shedeur, in his first NFL start against the Las Vegas Raiders, put up an impressive display, which included 11 out of 20 pass completions, 209 yards, and a touchdown, helping the Browns win their third game of the season with a scoreline of 24-10.
This made him the second player in the history of the NFL to start as a quarterback in an NFL game, being a son of a Pro Football Hall of Famer, after Brian Griese, who made his debut for the Broncos back in 1998.
Meanwhile, Cleveland Browns’ head coach Kevin Stefanski has confirmed that Shedeur Sanders will play as the starting quarterback against the 49ers later this week despite Dillon Gabriel having cleared his concussion protocol.
