The Arizona Cardinals have decided to give the boot to head coach Jonathan Gannon following a truly atrocious 2025 season. The Cardinals finished the 2025 season with a record of 3-14, the worst under Jonathan Gannon. Which is saying a lot considering they had three losing seasons during Gannon’s stint.

Fans didn’t lose any team in giving their opinions on X, rejoicing in the team’s decision to let go of the unpopular head coach.
“Might be the worst coach in history,” wrote one fan
“Please sign another mid candidate we need 2 free wins a year,” joked another person
“Man said basically Kyler Murray was the problem, then proceeds to lose every game 😂😂,” mocked another individual
“It’s the right call, their defense got immensely worse in the 3 years at the helm, regardless of injuries. Still a shocking since all reports had him returning. If they’re getting a new QB, which it sounds like they are. It makes sense that they get a new coach to align.” said one fan who agreed with the decision
Was all of this down to Kyler Murray’s attitude?
“He had to work with Kyler Murray what more did we expect,” said another person
“Kyler the coach killer strikes again. But Gannon was terrible as well,” explained another fan
Remember the Emari Demercado incident against the Tennessee Titans?
“It all went downhill after hitting Demercado…,” claimed someone
Some are simply happy to see this era end.
“what took so long ?,” asked someone
Jonathan Gannon Had The Locker Room’s Support as Recently as Monday Morning
As recently as Monday morning, during the locker room cleanout, the press spoke with members of the team who seemed to be fully behind Jonathan Gannon. Tackle Paris Johnson Jr. said the following shortly before the firing of the coach:
“I believe in J.G.,” tackle Paris Johnson Jr. said. “I love the man he is, his approach and as a leader. I believe he brings the most out of the guys here. … He’s never hanging his head. He’s not complaining. He’s trying to scratch and claw to get a win.”
Interestingly, the Arizona Cardinals published the quote on an article on their website, signaling perhaps that his departure was somewhat amicable.
