The New York Giants’ season has been one to forget. Following Monday Night Football’s 33-15 defeat to the New England Patriots, they rounded their record to a mediocre 2-11. Despite sitting out Russell Wilson since early in the season and allowing rookie Jaxson Dart to develop, the team has shown little improvement throughout the year.
The situation was so dire that the team’s front office and ownership decided to fire coach Brian Daboll a few weeks ago when the team had a 2-8 record. Fans now seem to think that the team’s ownership should do a full rebuild and fire general manager Joe Schoen.
During Tuesday’s bye week press conference, the YouTube live video comments were filled with fans demanding Schoen to be fired due to the Giants’ abysmal season.

New York Giants Fans Fall For Joe Schoen Firing Prank
The reaction by the fans was also likely inspired by some unusual news they received earlier on Tuesday. The idea that Joe Schoen had been fired went viral on social media, and fans seemed to replicate the news when a series of serious-looking news reporting parody accounts posted the prank.

However, as the press conference showed, he’s still pretty much the front and center for the New York Giants. During the press conference, he admitted that he hasn’t been a key part of some of the ownership’s decisions this season.
Mainly about the decision to fire Brian Daboll a couple of weeks ago, Schoen said during Tuesday’s press conference:
“Ownership made a decision to move on. I’m going to control what I can control.”
While he remains the team’s general manager, it’s clear that Schoen is no longer the key decision-maker for the Giants. It might not be long before the team’s fans get what they clamor for, if things keep going the way they currently are.
