Emmanuel Acho Makes Thoughts Clear On Justin Herbert’s ‘A*shole’ Label After Viral Post Game Interview Clip

Justin Herbert’s reaction to the win on Monday against the Philadelphia Eagles was a weird one. He seemed too busy to spend a few minutes with the sideline ESPN reporting crew, which led to some calling him out on the internet.

One instance included a fan calling him an “a*shole” as a reaction to the viral interview clip (0:10).

Barstool Sports reporter Kayce Smith was one of those to criticize his behavior after the 22-19 victory.

“Hey bro, you get paid $262 million to play football. When the prime time broadcast wants an interview, you stand there like EVERYBODY ELSE does and do the interview. Grow up. Kudos, @LauraRutledge. Real pro,” wrote Smith on X.

However, not everyone agrees with the assessment made by the reporter. Others, like Emmanuel Acho, think it was simply the quarterback showing some humanity in his desire to celebrate with his team.

“I don’t want to do this interview that 90% of players do not want to do… He does the interview… He was human, everybody relax, can we give people the opportunity… To have a human moment,” said the former NFL player on Wednesday’s edition of the “Speakeasy” podcast.

Acho focused on the fact that Justin Herbert was coming off a tense game, which would drain anyone physically and mentally, and that for just a moment, his mind was somewhere else. He overall praised him for fulfilling his duties, despite the situation.

Justin Herbert’s Numbers Against The Philadelphia Eagles

Herbert’s throwing numbers on Monday night weren’t all that impressive. He went 12 for 26, with 139 passing yards, one touchdown pass, and an interception. He did provide support to the team offense with another key output, in the form of 66 rushing yards that made him the Chargers’ leading rusher.

The Chargers’ defense was the one in the spotlight on Monday, snatching four interceptions from Jalen Hurts.
