Emeka Egbuka Injury: What Do Fantasy Owners Need To Know Ahead of Bucs’ MNF Showdown vs Lions

Emeka Egbuka was one of the best wide receivers entering the 2025 NFL Draft.

At Ohio State, he had two 1,000-yard seasons and racked up 2,868 receiving yards, 205 receptions, and 24 receiving touchdowns. He was 19th overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in this year’s draft.

    What Happened to Emeka Egbuka?

Last week, during the Tampa Bay Buccaneers game against the San Francisco 49ers, Emeka Egbuka suffered a hamstring injury and left the game and did not return.

The injury was serious enough to keep him out of last week’s game, but isn’t that bad as it isn’t a long-term injury.

Is Emeka Egbuka Playing in Week 7?

Emeka Egbuka is currently questionable to play against the Detroit Lions tonight. However, there is optimism that he plays.

ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter gave an update this morning stating that Egbuka has a ‘real chance’ to play. He also noted that Mike Evans is likely to play, returning from his hamstring injury as well.

    Emeka Egbuka Fantasy Outlook

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have had a number of injuries at the wide receiver position, including Emeka Egbuka.

If Egbuka plays the entire season and keeps up at the pace he’s at, he will go for 119 catches for 1,329 yards, and 14 receiving touchdowns. Egbuka has emerged as arguably the best rookie wide receiver, and could be the feature receiver in the Bucs’ receiving corps being a young, productive playmaker.

Fantasy owners most likely selected Egbuka in the later rounds, and are feeling happy with the production he’s had thus far.
