Behind a 16-0 halftime lead, the Miami Dolphins had the biggest win and upset of Week 10, defeating divisional rival Buffalo Bills 33-10 on Sunday.
Miami entered today’s game with a 2-7 record as the Bills entered 6-2. The Dolphins defense forced three turnovers, and running back De’Von Achane ran wild, rushing for 174 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
The win improved Miami to 3-7, as the Bills dropped to 6-3, and keeps them further behind the first place 8-2 New England Patriots.
Could the Miami Dolphins Make The Playoffs?
As of Week 10, the Miami Dolphins are technically not eliminated from the playoffs. Miami’s improbable win kept them alive for an improbable chance of making the playoffs.
According to NFL.com, the Dolphins have just a 1% chance of of making the playoffs, They would have to win out, which seems very unlikely, and would need so many different scenarios to happen that seem unlikely. It’s more likely that Miami gets eliminated from the playoff hunt with a loss next week.
Current AFC Playoff Picture
Out of the 16 teams in the AFC, the Miami Dolphins are currently the 12th seed, and basically have no shot at making the postseason. The Buffalo Bills currently sit as the No. 6 seed, or the second wild card team.
At 8-2 and leading the AFC South, the Indianapolis Colts are the No. 1 seed in the AFC. The Denver Broncos, who hold the same record, are the No. 2 seed. The New England Patriots also hold an 8-2 record and sit as No. 3 in the AFC. Prior to Sunday night’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers, the Pittsburgh Steelers hold the fourth seed at 5-3, and leading the AFC North.
The Chargers currently hold the fifth seed and first wildcard spot as the Jacksonville Jaguars are currently the seventh and final seed. The Kansas City Chiefs (5-4), Houston Texans (4-5), and Baltimore Ravens (4-5) are currently on the bubble. Currently, every team is alive in the playoff race, but that can change come next week.
