DJ Moore Injury Update: What Fantasy Owners Need to Know About Bears WR Ahead of Week 7

The Chicago Bears had an off day on Wednesday, which means that they did not have any practices. This has gotten fans to ask what is the status for wide receiver DJ Moore, who was sent to the hospital and stayed there overnight after their close and dramatic win over the Washington Commanders, 25-24.

If the Bears had practiced on Wednesday, however, Moore and several others, including kicker Cairo Santos, linebacker Noah Sewell and offensive lineman Jonah Jackson would not have practiced after their Monday Night Football win, as the injured players still need some time to recover.

These injured players have to recover quickly though, as the Bears will be hosting the New Orleans Saints at Soldier Field on Sunday, making this their first home game in almost a month. The question now is, will DJ Moore be healed up enough in time for that game?

    What Happened to DJ Moore?

According to head coach Ben Johnson, Moore suffered a groin injury in that win over the Commanders and that he had to stay back in Washington as the rest of the team flew back home to Chicago. He spent one night at the hospital and then flew back to the Windy City immediately, with Johnson explaining that the wide receiver received “precautionary medical attention” at a nearby hospital.

However, the coach did not provide any further details regarding Moore’s injury, but the wide receiver caught three passes for 42 yards and played the entire game on Monday.

Is DJ Moore Playing Week 7?

While Johnson did not give any further details on Moore’s injury, he told reporters that they are still evaluating him day-by-day to see if he could be back in action against the Saints on Sunday. For now, the Bears are still just waiting to see if he has healed enough to decide if he could be medically cleared to play. In other words, his status, while not official yet, can be seen as “questionable” and the decision to play him could come on gameday.

    DJ Moore Fantasy Outlook

For now, Fantasy managers should also apply a “wait-and-see” approach, as his status could be decided on gameday itself. It Expect Devin Duvernay or Jahdae Walker to be called up to the starting position should D.J. Moore not to be able to play on Sunday. Sitting him out would also be a safe option.
