Kosar, who won a Super Bowl in 1994 as part of the Dallas Cowboys, alongside Deion Sanders and Michael Irving, had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and cirrhosis of the liver, and thus needed a liver transplant. His procedure is scheduled to happen on Monday.
Bernie Kosar has been dealing with cirrhosis of the liver since 2023, with the Cleveland Browns legend saying that he had been dealing with liver-related issues for years but did not deal with the problem as he was not sure of the source. This was until his liver problems worsened, and just last week, he had to undergo five procedures, which all led up to him getting that liver transplant.
