Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson continues to stay in the spotlight despite being sidelined with an injury. The 29-year-old was recently seen traveling with his wife, Jilly Watson, as the couple prepared for the Browns’ upcoming game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Watson and Jilly have been married since July 2025. The couple, who often share glimpses of their life online, were joined by their two dogs on a private jet this week. Jilly posted several photos on Instagram, showing the family relaxing mid-air in what appeared to be a luxurious setting.

Watson continues his road to recovery after a long spell away from the field. The quarterback suffered a ruptured right Achilles tendon in October 2024, which required two surgeries, the second one coming in early 2025 after complications.
Watson has been out of the walking boot for months and has resumed light throwing sessions at the Browns’ facility. However, he remains on the physically unable to perform list and has not yet been cleared for full practice.
Cleveland has been cautious with his rehab timeline, prioritizing long-term recovery over rushing him back into action. Team officials have praised his work ethic during rehabilitation, but there’s still no confirmed return date.
The Browns restructured Watson’s contract earlier this year to ease salary cap pressure, signaling their continued confidence in his future with the team. For now, though, the focus remains on getting their star quarterback fully healthy.
Deshaun Watson Could Be Stuck on the Bench
Watson, who turned 30 in September, has been trying to get back in the lineup. The Browns, for now, have a very tricky situation regarding the quarterback position. Amid that, Scott Petrak recently claimed that Watson’s recovery and comeback are still a distant dream.
“I think all along, the organization has thought it would be…I don’t know if [calling it] a ‘long shot’ is too strong, but for Watson to play this year,” he said. “They were not counting on him. I still don’t think they’re counting on him.” (From 9:50)
“I know he’s pushing really hard to get back and prove that he can play. So, I would say probably not this week, but I can’t say that for sure,” he added.
Petrak is also doubtful if any other team would be interested in recruiting Watson because of the nature of his contract with the Browns. Watson is signed through 2026 on a five-year, $230 million contract.
