“Bought 11 Gucci Watches”: $60,000,000 Worth Deion Sanders Reveals Ultimate Message For Atlanta Teammates After Electrifying 1989 Debut

Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders is known for his lavish lifestyle, which he has earned as an NFL legend and as a college head coach. His net worth is around $60 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth, and he is not afraid to spend it, as he is known for his luxury cars and watches.

During his appearance on Jason and Travis Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast, the former Dallas Cowboys superstar opened up about his lavish spending, especially after his impactful debut after the Atlanta Falcons drafted him in 1989. This came after he was asked by Travis Kelce about his “Welcome to the NFL” moment, and he noted that it involved his teammates and 11 Gucci watches.

“My welcome to the NFL moment was housing that thing on the first game I played in against the Rams,” he told the Kelce brothers. “And I can remember going to downtown to to the mall back then when we used to go to the mall and I bought 11 Gucci watches for the whole punt return team.” (41:11)

He noted that this included the special teams coach, and he stated that those gifts came with a card that had a special message from him.

“And I wrote on the card, “Every fourth down, I just wanted y’all to know what time it was.” he added. “I gave it to him the next day. I want you to know what time it was.”

In 1989, when he was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons, he had a salary worth $880,000, which was already big at that time. By the time he went to the Dallas Cowboys, he was already a superstar, with “Primetime” Deion Sanders earning $7 million a year.

Deion Sanders Admitted Philadelphia Eagles Were Looking at Shedeur Sanders During the 2025 NFL Draft

Deion Sanders is also the father of Cleveland Browns QB Shedeur Sanders, who had one of the biggest slides in NFL draft history, being drafted in the fifth round after being projected that he would be picked in the first. There were actually several teams that have shown interest in the younger Sanders, particularly the Baltimore Ravens. However, as it turns out, the Philadelphia Eagles were showing interest as well.

The elder Sanders told Eagles great Jason Kelce that his former team contacted Shedeur Sanders during the NFL draft. Nothing ultimately came from this call, with the younger Sanders sliding down to the fifth round.

Deion Sanders also confirmed that the Ravens did approach his son as well, but he turned them down because he might not get any playing time because of QB Lamar Jackson.
