One of the sons of NFL legend and current Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders recently addressed the hype surrounding his other son, Shedeur, who happens to be his half-brother. On Tuesday, Dec. 23, Deion Sanders Jr. took to his X/Twitter account to write a cryptic, public message. Many onlookers believed he was tending to the hype that is surrounding his step-brother, the Cleveland Browns rookie Shedeur Sanders.
This is because Shedeur has thrived since being named the starting quarterback for coach Kevin Stefanski’s Browns for the rest of the 2025 NFL season. In this role, Shedeur has shown flashes of greatness while carrying the legacy of his father, Deion Sanders. As such, Deion Sanders Jr. decided to talk about it, without mentioning Shedeur Sanders.
You gotta understand,
People have to recoup the money that they’ve spent during the holiday season. So they’re going to constantly mention the name that holds MAJOR weight

Shedeur Sanders has helped Cleveland to a current record of 3-12, and they are momentarily the fourth seed in the AFC North. While it has not translated to team success, Shedeur has been a force to be reckoned with individually, which has since gotten the attention of several Browns fans and spectators. Deion Sanders Jr. played collegiate football for the SMU Mustangs from 2013 to 2015, but did not opt for the NFL afterwards.

Shedeur Sanders got a supportive and heartfelt pep talk from his father in late November, right before his first start in the NFL. Deion Sanders revealed his message to Shedeur during an appearance on the “Colorado Football Coaches Show,” wherein host Mark Johnson asked him what his message to his son was.
“Love you. You know I had to be here. Relax. Be you. God has given you everything that you need to be successful. Allow those abilities to come forth. Don’t try to force nothing. Don’t try to do nothing that you’re not capable of doing. Just let it be. But he’s like, ‘Dad, I’m prepared. I’m ready,'” Deion Sanders said.
