Is Deebo Samuel Playing Sunday vs. Giants? What Fantasy Owners Need To Know About Commanders WR Ahead Of Week 15

The Washington Commanders have been struggling all season long, and they are even out of playoff contention, but as the season is not over yet, many are asking if star wide receiver Deebo Samuels will finally return. The team will be facing the also-struggling New York Giants on Sunday, and his return could spark something for the Commanders.

Samuel appeared in the injury report due to an unspecified illness, but that illness might have just been minor, as NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport has reported that he should be “good to go” for Sunday’s big game. The injury report appearance certainly caused a lot of concern, but it ultimately was nothing to worry about for Commanders fans and Fantasy managers.

He is currently listed as questionable but is expected to play against the Giants. Though this is not yet official, him playing would be a boon for quarterback Marcus Mariota, who has made Deebo Samuel one of his favorite targets this season. The wide receiver has played 12 games for the Commanders, making 62 receptions for 561 yards and five touchdowns already this season.

The Commanders have been struggling with injuries all season long, and Samuel’s appearance on the injury report did not help things out for the struggling team. QB1 Jayden Daniels has returned to practice but will be out for the game against the Giants. Also out on Sunday will be corner back Jonathan Jones and defensive end Drake Jones, with running back Chris Rodriguez listed as questionable.

Should I Play Deebo Samuel This Week?

Deebo Samuel is expected to play this week, so Fantasy managers should not be too worried. The Commanders wide receiver is always a solid pick, and even with Jayden Daniels out, Samuel has shown that he could play very well with backup QB Marcus Mariota.

In three of Mariota’s starts, Deebo Samuel has scored a touchdown and has had at least five catches and recorded 64 yards thrice. This means while the Commanders’ main quarterback is out, Samuel has shown much chemistry with the backup. He has proven that he could produce the numbers that Fantasy managers need, with or without Jayden Daniels.
