On Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles executed one of the most impressive tricks during the season, which was even recognized by the legendary head coach of the women’s basketball team at South Carolina, Dawn Staley, who reacted on X.
“Was that a fake Tush Push?!! @Eagles yall got me with that one! Put 7 pts on the board!!🤣🤣🤣”, Staley posted on X.
The play occurred at an important time in the game when Philadelphia had a scoring opportunity. The Eagles had the ball only 25 yards from the end zone after a Tampa Bay turnover, and certainly everyone in the stadium was expecting the same “Tush Push” that has been synonymous with Eagles football under Jalen Hurts.

However, Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore put in something completely different. When Hurts walked up to the line to execute the familiar look, Tampa Bay’s defense buckled for the quarterback’s forward dive. This gave Hurts an opportunity to easily hand the football off to Saquon Barkley, who dashed off to score the touchdown.
The season could not have come at a better time for Barkley, as until that time in the game Barkley had already carried 11 times for only 23 yards. The touchdown pushed Philadelphia ahead 31-13 with just more than four minutes left in the third quarter.
Baker Mayfield and Bucky Irving Connect for a 72-Yard Touchdown
Eagles linebacker Jihaad Campbell established the scene for this moment by forcing a fumble from Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving. Cornerback Kelee Ringo pounced on the loose fumble at Tampa Bay’s 25-yard line, providing Philadelphia with stellar field position after struggling mightily on their first two possessions of the second half.

Tampa Bay seemed to respond instantly, as Baker Mayfield located Irving for a brilliant 72-yard touchdown pass. Irving found a way around Campbell on the coverage to pull it off. It was the explosive plays that had kept the Buccaneers in the game all afternoon. However, the Eagles won the game with a scoreline of 31-25.
