Wednesdays usually mean that teams get to update the public about their injured players, and that was the case with the LA Rams‘ Davante Adams. He got injured in that 42-26 win over the San Francisco 49ers, and it was revealed that he missed practice and was featured on the team’s initial injury report.
Adams has been big for the Rams, one of the best teams in the NFL this season, and his absence would be considered a big blow to the team’s offense. He has proven to have a lot of chemistry with Matthew Stafford and has become one of his favorite targets. The question now is, will he be able to play on Week 11 against the Seattle Seahawks?
What Happened To Davante Adams?
Adams suffered an oblique injury during that win over San Francisco on Sunday, and he did not return to play after being pilled out. The injury was significant enough that he did not practice at all on Wednesday, which surprised even head coach Sean McVay.
The coach then provided an update regarding their star wide receiver:
“He’s making good progress. He did the walkthrough. I still feel the same as what I communicated to you guys on Monday.”
Is Davante Adams Playing This Week?
Officially, he is not in the clear yet, especially after he missed the Wednesday practice. However, Davante Adams himself would love to play on Week 11 against the Seahawks, as revealed in a conversation he had with McVay after the Wednesday practice. McVay was asked by reporters if Adams was confident about playing against Seattle, and this was his response:
“I do, yeah. That’s what he tells me. He’s feeling good and I trust the man. He’ll be ready.”
Davante Adams Fantasy Outlook
Both the team and Adams himself are showing signs that they are confident he could play against the Seahawks this week. Despite the positive outlook, however, Fantasy owners must still approach the injury with caution and be ready to sit him out on short notice.
Fantasy Replacements If Davante Adams Misses Week 11
For now, it should be safe to assume that Adams will be playing on Sunday. However, should he miss the game, Jordan Whittington and Konata Mumpfield are his expected replacements, so it should be wise to pick either of them up.
